Zillow is hiring a Principal Software Engineer for its Transaction AI team to partner with scientists, engineers, designers, and researchers on agentic AI applications and internal tooling. The role leads proof-of-concept groups, sets software development and architecture strategy, guides technical decisions, mentors engineers, and aligns engineering capability with business strategy. It requires 8+ years of production software experience, strong backend and data infrastructure knowledge, fluency in Python, TypeScript, and JavaScript, and experience with highly available Internet-scale services. The position is remote, with location-specific base pay ranging from $185,800 to $312,400 annually and eligibility for equity awards.
