Description

Sidus Space is hiring a Principal Systems Engineer to lead the design, development, integration, and verification of advanced microelectronic and compute-intensive hardware systems, including 3U VPX modules, high-performance embedded computing platforms, and AI processing hardware. The role requires systems architecture, electronics development, requirements management, and system verification experience, along with familiarity with systems engineering lifecycle tools. It is 100% onsite in Cape Canaveral, Florida, with a Monday-through-Friday day-shift schedule and less than 10% travel.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or another related STEM field; equivalent experience considered.
Required Previous Experiences: Eight years of engineering experience involving systems architecture, electronics development, requirements management, and system verification for complex hardware systems.
Experience with systems engineering lifecycle tools such as DOORS, CRADLE, DevOps platforms, or equivalents.
Preferred Qualifications: Hands-on experience with microelectronics, high-density PCB design, and embedded computing hardware, preferably in 3U VPX or similar ruggedized form factors.
Strong background in high-speed digital design, power electronics, FPGA-based architectures, and/or AI compute modules.
Experience developing and executing acceptance, qualification, and environmental tests for mission-critical hardware.
Familiarity with modern PCB design workflows, including schematic capture, layout, SI/PI analysis, and manufacturing release.
Working knowledge of RF circuit design, high-rate data interfaces, and mixed-signal systems.
Experience with full product lifecycle development for complex systems integrating electrical, mechanical, and software components.
