Description
Amgen is hiring a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to own enterprise AI/ML architecture, standards, APIs, and guardrails across cloud and on-premises environments. The role builds and operates production machine-learning and generative-AI solutions, including ML pipelines, LLM/RAG systems, observability, evaluation, drift detection, automated retraining, and full-stack AI applications. The principal will also establish AI strategy, mentor teams, translate business needs into roadmaps, and partner with DevOps, Security, Compliance, and Product teams. The position requires a doctorate with two years of machine-learning engineering experience or equivalent higher education and experience combinations, plus at least two years of people-management or leadership experience, and offers a U.S. base salary range of 187,395.25 to 253,534.75 USD.
