Intuitive Surgical is hiring a Principal Mechanical Engineer to develop and improve robotic surgical instruments for minimally invasive surgery. The role involves designing, testing, simulating, and validating wristed robotic instruments; collaborating with mechanical, manufacturing, supplier, quality, and clinical engineering teams; performing risk analysis and regulatory documentation; supporting field and manufacturing issues; and mentoring engineering staff. Candidates need a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, physics, or a related field, at least 15 years of medical device experience, and expertise in medical device development, safety standards, regulatory requirements, and cross-functional project leadership.
