The role focuses on cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, performance and scalability, AI-assisted development, production reliability, technical leadership, and mentoring engineers. It is based at Appian’s headquarters in McLean, Virginia, with employees expected to work in the office five days per week. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical discipline, 10+ years of relevant software development experience, and expertise in Java, Python, or Go, with a base salary range of $175,000 to $325,000 USD.
