QuEra Computing is hiring a Principal Optical Engineer to serve as a senior individual contributor in its Hardware Engineering Group. The role focuses on designing and developing optical modules and systems for neutral-atom quantum computers, leading interdisciplinary engineering teams through product development, coordinating with R&D and customer support, and troubleshooting issues at headquarters and customer sites. Candidates need a master’s degree in optics, optical engineering, applied physics, or a related field, 10–15 years of non-academic experience, and expertise in free-space optics, lens and fiber optics, lasers, optical characterization, opto-mechanics, CAD, PDM, PLM, and optical simulation software. The approximate base salary is $180,000–$220,000, with equity grants for new hires.
