Principal Radiation Physicist role at BAE Systems in Barrow-in-Furness supporting radiation physics and shielding work across major defence programmes, including the UK nuclear submarine fleet. The position involves supervising assessments and experiments for system qualification, contributing to design optimisation, producing radiological safety justifications, directing development of internal toolsets, and supporting shielding design. It is a hybrid role with a minimum of three days on site per week and requires a relevant STEM degree plus experience with radiation transport codes, radiation safety studies, radiation metrology, and the ALARP principle.
