1X is hiring a Principal Safety Engineer to define safety principles for humanoid robots operating in homes and other unstructured environments. The role focuses on identifying hazards across hardware, controls, software, AI behavior, and electromechanical systems; inventing novel risk-mitigation approaches; establishing safer architectures and validation strategies; and leading multidisciplinary safety work. Candidates need deep robotics safety and AI-enabled robotic systems experience, a strong background in robot design and controls, and a demonstrated record of safety innovation and safety-case development.
