Description

Kernal Biologics, Inc. is hiring a Principal Scientist, mRNA-tLNP Analytical Development in Boston, Massachusetts. Reporting to the Director of Drug Product Development, this onsite principal-level scientist will lead analytical and bioanalytical method development, characterization, qualification, and execution for mRNA and targeted lipid nanoparticle (tLNP) platforms supporting in vivo CAR-T programs. The role covers biophysical and biochemical assays, antibody–lipid conjugate and targeted LNP characterization, outsourced CRO/CDMO oversight, GLP/GMP compliance, stability programs, and authoring bioanalytical sections of INDs and other regulatory submissions.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field with 6+ years of industry experience; alternatively, MS with 8+ years or BS with 12+ years.
Required Previous Experiences: Relevant industry experience: 6+ years with a PhD, 8+ years with an MS, or 12+ years with a BS.
Analytical method development and characterization for mRNA and LNP products.
Technical oversight of CRO/CDMO analytical activities, ICH-compliant stability programs, and GMP testing.
Authoring and reviewing bioanalytical sections for INDs and other regulatory submissions.
Preferred Qualifications: Cell-based potency assay development, qualification, and troubleshooting.
Strategic characterization knowledge across mRNA, LNPs, biologics, monoclonal antibodies, and bioconjugates.
Experience characterizing antibody–lipid bioconjugates and targeted LNPs, including conjugation efficiency, ligand density, identity, integrity, and antigen binding.
