Microsoft’s Offensive Research & Security Engineering (MORSE) team is hiring a Principal Security Engineer to secure operating systems, platform technologies, cloud platforms, and virtualization technologies. The role focuses on discovering and mitigating security vulnerabilities, developing security tooling and detection capabilities, influencing secure engineering practices, and providing technical leadership and mentorship across engineering teams. Candidates need a relevant master’s degree with 4+ years of security experience or a relevant bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience, or equivalent experience, along with the ability to meet Microsoft security screening requirements. The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $142,800–$274,800 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
