Rocket Software Inc. is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to provide hands-on technical leadership across its COBOL development ecosystem and enterprise server application replatforming products. The role involves architecting compilers, runtimes, middleware, and large-scale distributed systems; driving legacy modernization and cloud migration strategies; building mission-critical infrastructure software; conducting code reviews and production troubleshooting; and mentoring engineers. Candidates need 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, expertise in systems-level software, and experience with COBOL, PL/I, C, or C++ or related lower-level languages. The position is remote.
