Microsoft is hiring a Software Engineer to help define and build its agentic engineering platform for developer productivity. The role owns complete features across the development lifecycle, uses AI in coding, experiments with AI approaches, contributes to the ESAI codebase, mentors engineers, and partners with other Microsoft teams. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and at least six years of technical engineering experience; prior experience with agent SDKs, LLMs, prompt engineering, AI orchestration, developer tooling, and production systems is preferred. The typical U.S. base pay range is USD 142,800–274,800 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
