Mastercard is hiring a Principal Software Engineer in Architecture & Technology to provide senior individual-contributor leadership across enterprise engineering strategy, architecture standards, cloud-native platforms, distributed systems, resiliency, observability, and software engineering practices. The role partners with engineering leaders and architects, leads architecture reviews and technology decisions, develops reusable platforms and AI-enabled engineering tools, and mentors senior engineers. It requires extensive experience in scalable enterprise software, software architecture, cloud platforms, microservices, platform engineering, reliability and observability, DevSecOps, and cross-functional technical strategy. The role is based in O'Fallon, Missouri, with a base salary of $170,000–$281,000 USD and potential annual bonus or commissions.
