Description
Microsoft is hiring a Principal Software Engineer for its Azure networking team to design, develop, test, and operate software services and platforms that support control and data plane automation for Azure compute and networking use cases. The role involves building scalable and secure systems, troubleshooting production issues, collaborating with product and architecture teams, improving reliability and cost efficiency, and mentoring engineers. The position requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and at least six years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python; a master's degree and 8+ years of experience or a bachelor's degree and 12+ years of experience are preferred. The typical U.S. base pay range is USD 142,800–274,800 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
