Description
Microsoft is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to advance Kubernetes and auxiliary components on Azure, improve the quality of service for Microsoft Azure Kubernetes Service, accelerate engineering velocity, build automation, and integrate AI tools into workflows. The role focuses on cloud-native technologies and AI platform innovation, including distributed systems, containerized applications, and AI workloads at global scale. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and at least six years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience. Preferred qualifications include a master's degree, extensive distributed-systems and Kubernetes experience, Golang and Linux experience, and site-reliability engineering practices. The typical U.S. base pay range is USD 142,800 to USD 274,800 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
