Microsoft is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to lead technical direction for the Bing Ads auction platform, including the ads serving stack, core auction and pricing engine, scalability, reliability, observability, and AI-powered advertising capabilities. The role owns critical components end-to-end, drives high-impact technical initiatives, sets architectural direction, mentors engineers, and improves operational excellence for a high-scale, low-latency platform serving billions of requests daily. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and at least six years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python; equivalent experience is accepted.
