Description
Microsoft is hiring a Principal Software Engineer for its IC3 Data Platform team to provide hands-on technical leadership on large-scale, self-service AI, agentic, and data-platform capabilities. The role focuses on architecture, secure and reliable distributed systems, AI orchestration, identity, privacy, compliance, multi-tenant design, production code, engineering standards, and cross-team delivery. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field plus at least six years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience; preferred qualifications include a master's degree, extensive distributed-systems experience, and hands-on experience with Azure, Kubernetes, Airflow, Spark, Flink, Kafka, Azure Data Factory, Event Hubs, and generative AI technologies. The typical U.S. base pay range is USD 142,800–274,800 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
