Description
Microsoft is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to design and build a compliant Flink-based streaming processing platform on container infrastructure, with self-service and agent-assisted capabilities for onboarding, governing, and operating streaming workloads. The role also involves developing distributed tracing, near-real-time analytics, telemetry enrichment, and other Microsoft 365 data workflows, while leading AI-native software development, cross-team technical alignment, and large-scale data-platform frameworks. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and at least six years of technical engineering experience with relevant programming languages; preferred qualifications include advanced degrees, additional experience, and expertise in big data, containers, streaming, distributed systems, and agent-assisted engineering. The role offers a U.S. base pay range of USD 142,800 to USD 274,800 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
