Description
Microsoft is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to lead the technical vision and architecture of Windows App, a product connecting users to Cloud PCs, virtual desktops, applications, and remote Windows experiences. The role coordinates engineering across Windows, Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, Identity, Security, Management, Graphics/Media, and Networking; establishes engineering standards for approximately 80 developers; leads critical initiatives and product health; and advances testing, performance, observability, diagnostics, and release-quality practices. The position requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and at least six years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, plus Microsoft cloud background-check eligibility. The typical U.S. base pay range is USD 142,800 to USD 274,800 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
