Description
Microsoft’s Store Database Team is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to lead the architecture, design, and delivery of large-scale storage and data-access solutions for Microsoft 365 and other mission-critical cloud services. The role covers distributed databases, storage systems, data protection, capacity planning, AI-native systems, performance and resiliency, operational automation, incident prevention, and engineering leadership. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field plus at least six years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python; equivalent experience may qualify. The typical U.S. base pay range is USD 142,800–274,800 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
