Description
Microsoft is hiring a Principal Software Engineer for its Azure Kubernetes Service team to advance Kubernetes and auxiliary components, improve service quality, accelerate engineering velocity, build automation, and integrate AI tools. The role focuses on distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, and AI platform innovation, with responsibilities spanning service reliability, production incident prevention, and scalable workload management. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and at least six years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python; equivalent experience is also accepted. The role offers a typical U.S. base pay range of USD 142,800 to USD 274,800 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
