Description
Microsoft is hiring a Principal Software Engineer for its Windows Engineering System Quality & Validation team. The role leads improvements to diagnosability, debuggability, and step-function quality in validation signals; partners with product, engineering, and partner teams; leads architecture, debugging, incident response, observability, automation, and release planning; and mentors others. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical discipline plus 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, PowerShell, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience. The typical U.S. base pay range is USD 142,800–274,800 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
