Description
Elastic is hiring a Principal Software Engineer for its Elasticsearch Performance team to lead architectural and code-level performance engineering initiatives. The role owns performance optimization from architecture through production, develops performance models and methodologies, profiles distributed systems, establishes benchmarks and regression detection, automates optimization workflows, and mentors engineers. Candidates need deep Java and JVM knowledge, distributed-systems expertise, profiling and benchmarking experience, and familiarity with AI-assisted optimization; native-library, storage-engine, vector-search, and data-store experience are bonus qualifications. Compensation is a base salary of €67,000–€106,000 EUR, with no variable component.
