Elastic is hiring a Principal Software Engineer for its Elasticsearch Distributed Systems team to design, build, and operate core components of a next-generation serverless Elasticsearch offering. The role focuses on distributed systems, consensus algorithms, concurrent and consistent indexing, cluster coordination, performance and stability, and operational investigations. Candidates need deep distributed systems expertise, strong Java and algorithmic skills, experience building large-scale distributed systems, and the ability to own projects and collaborate across teams.
