Description
Toast is hiring a Principal Engineer to lead architectural design, technical execution, and implementation across foundational Team Suite, Payroll, and Team Management products. The role owns authentication, authorization, and organizational hierarchy architecture; drives large-scale SaaS initiatives, modern software patterns, AI-integrated workflows, and technical strategy; and mentors developers across teams. The position requires extensive high-scale SaaS experience, identity and access architecture expertise, broad technology knowledge, and a strong track record of cross-functional collaboration and technical quality leadership. It is a hybrid role with a base salary of $230,000–$368,000 USD in Zone A, plus cash compensation, equity, and benefits.
