Description

Dragos is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to join its Backend Community and help build its xOT Security Platform. The role focuses on designing and implementing high-performance, testable systems and tools in Rust, optimizing software architectures, participating throughout the development lifecycle, and collaborating remotely with engineering disciplines. Candidates need extensive backend, database, microservices, Rust, cybersecurity, and OT/ICS experience, along with leadership and mentoring experience. Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 10+ years developing backend systems at scale in high-performance team environments
5+ years with relational databases such as Postgres
5+ years with NoSQL databases such as Elasticsearch
5+ years working in microservices architecture
Experience integrating with third-party devices and data providers
Experience incorporating AI tools, models, or services into development workflows
Mentoring and developing senior engineers
Leading architectural decisions and influencing technical strategy across multiple teams
Experience in cybersecurity, OT, or ICS environments
Preferred Qualifications: Building and operating distributed systems at scale with a focus on reliability
Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud-native architectures
Experience with containerization using Docker
Understanding of observability tooling including Prometheus and Grafana
Building CI/CD pipelines and using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
