Toast is hiring a Config Platform Engineering Manager to design, build, deploy, and maintain highly resilient and scalable systems that power live configuration updates across its restaurant and business ecosystem. The role owns long-term technical architecture and strategy, communicates technical direction, mentors Staff and Senior Staff engineers, improves engineering productivity, and optimizes performance bottlenecks. It requires a proven track record operating mission-critical production services at scale, distributed-system expertise, and the ability to make strategic technical decisions. The role uses Kotlin, Java, AWS, Postgres, Spark, React, and other technologies, and offers a hybrid work model with base salary ranging from $180,000 to $368,000 USD depending on geographic pay zone.
