BAE Systems is hiring a Principal Software Engineer (Control Systems) for an onsite role in Barrow-in-Furness. The position leads safety-critical PLC and SCADA software development, testing, configuration, and configuration management for the Dreadnought PMS system, while mentoring engineering staff and coordinating with engineering teams and external clients. The role requires a BEng or equivalent qualification, Chartered Engineer status or progress toward it, and extensive experience developing safety-critical control-system software across regulated industries, including submarine, marine, nuclear, defence, and pharmaceutical applications. The salary is circa £58,000, with hybrid and flexible working options available.
