Microsoft Core AI is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to lead the design, development, delivery, and operational excellence of large-scale AI services and platforms for Foundry’s Observability group. The role owns architecture and implementation, partners with product and engineering teams, engages with customers, drives technical leadership and engineering excellence, and mentors engineers. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience. Preferred qualifications include 8+ years of experience, experience with highly available cloud services and distributed systems, and experience with machine learning or artificial intelligence systems. The position offers a typical U.S. base pay range of USD $142,800-$274,800 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
