Microsoft is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for Foundry Agents to build and scale cloud-native, distributed systems that support secure enterprise deployment, governed tool integration, model fine-tuning, observability, evaluation, and optimization for advanced AI agents. The role owns architectural decisions, technical direction, operational excellence, security, and responsible AI at scale, while collaborating with CoreAI and Azure teams. It requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and at least six years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python; a master's degree and 12+ years of experience or a bachelor's degree and 15+ years of experience are preferred. The position offers a typical U.S. base pay range of USD 142,800 to USD 274,800 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
