Docker is hiring a Principal Software Engineer in Networking to set technical direction for the networking stack behind its Sandboxes platform and make architectural decisions affecting its product portfolio. The role designs and operates scalable networking services for microVM orchestration, workload scheduling, lifecycle management, and multi-tenant agentic workloads; leads a small engineering team; and contributes to architecture, reliability, observability, CI/CD, and production incident response. It requires 10+ years of experience in large-scale cloud or distributed systems, networking foundations, container networking, service mesh, orchestration, kernel and user-space networking, and cloud infrastructure. The position is remote-first, with offices in Seattle and Paris, and offers United States compensation of $198,000–$319,000 plus equity.
