Description

NVIDIA is hiring a Principal Software Engineer for its Configuration Management team to define and build enterprise infrastructure automation, configuration management, orchestration, and operational platforms. The role combines multi-year technical leadership with hands-on software development across compute, storage, networking, cloud, and hybrid environments, including AI-enabled configuration intelligence, secure integrations, large-scale architecture, and engineering leadership. Candidates need 15+ years of progressive software engineering experience, a relevant degree or equivalent experience, and expertise in enterprise configuration management, systems programming, Linux, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and large-scale data platforms. The base salary range is 248,000 USD to 391,000 USD, with equity and benefits; applications were accepted until August 29, 2026.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar domain, or a Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
Required Previous Experiences: 15+ years of progressive software engineering experience delivering complex, business-critical platforms and distributed systems.
Deep knowledge of enterprise configuration management or infrastructure automation using Ansible, AWX, Salt, or equivalent platforms.
Hands-on expertise in Go, Python, Java, or a comparable systems programming language, including APIs, concurrency, distributed systems, testing, debugging, and performance engineering.
Hands-on experience with Linux, Kubernetes, containers, cloud and hybrid infrastructure, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
Experience developing enterprise data and automation pipelines using Databricks or comparable large-scale data platforms.
Experience defining and evolving the architecture of large-scale infrastructure platforms across teams, data centers, or cloud environments.
Experience identifying organization-wide challenges, establishing strategy, and driving implementation across teams.
Experience with communication, technical leadership, consensus building, senior-level influence, mentoring, and leading through ambiguity.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience architecting, deploying, and managing Ansible Automation Platform at enterprise scale.
Experience developing platforms managing large global infrastructure fleets across data centers, public clouds, compute, storage, and networking.
Experience leading the development and enterprise-wide adoption of an AI-enabled configuration management, infrastructure automation, or autonomous operations platform.
Experience using AI to solve infrastructure challenges such as configuration drift, compliance, change-risk analysis, incident diagnosis, capacity management, predictive operations, or automated remediation.
