Microsoft is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to design, build, and operationalize machine learning systems and hyperscale distributed services for its AI experiences. The role covers model development, evaluation, LLM prompting and fine-tuning, distributed service architecture, model serving and inference infrastructure, APIs, data pipelines, monitoring, capacity planning, incident response, and cross-functional collaboration.
