Mastercard is hiring a Principal Software Engineer for Authorization Decisioning, a role combining 20–40% individual contributor work with technical team leadership. The engineer will lead complex enterprise software initiatives, define requirements, design and deliver scalable financial services, guide engineering teams, and support incident response and production problem-solving. The role requires deep experience in financial services, payments, high-volume platforms, data-intensive architecture, Java and related technologies, cloud and DevOps, and databases, along with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related STEM-intensive program.
