Description
Microsoft is hiring a Principal Software Engineer Manager to lead foundational technologies for Windows application experiences, including the WinUI framework runtime, compositor integration, platform performance, reliability, and engineering fundamentals. The role owns platform strategy and execution, technical architecture and tradeoffs, quality and benchmarking systems, technical debt and modernization, and cross-functional alignment with product, design, developer platform, and application partner teams. It also manages a high-performing engineering team, coaches engineers, and influences technical standards and strategy across organizations. The position requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and at least six years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, plus Microsoft security screening.
