Microsoft is hiring a Principal Software Engineering Manager to lead the expansion of identity and access governance solutions for human and non-human identities across cloud and hybrid environments. The role manages and develops a software engineering team, sets engineering priorities and roadmaps, guides globally distributed governance services, influences technical architecture, and drives security, reliability, performance, compliance, and operational excellence. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical discipline and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience; additional preferred qualifications include people management experience and experience with commercial software, cloud services, distributed systems, or identity governance. The typical U.S. base pay range is USD 142,800–274,800 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
