Description
Microsoft is hiring a Principal Software Engineering Manager to lead engineers responsible for designing, building, and operating highly scalable distributed systems that power Azure's infrastructure resource lifecycle management platform. The role owns platform delivery and operational excellence, drives architecture and technical strategy, leads cross-organizational initiatives, and develops engineering talent. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and at least six years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C#, C++, Java, Go, or Python; equivalent experience is also accepted. Preferred qualifications include advanced degrees, extensive distributed-systems and cloud-services experience, and engineering-management experience. The typical U.S. base pay range is USD 142,800 to USD 274,800 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
