Microsoft is hiring a Principal Software Engineering Manager for its Windows Inbox team to lead engineering and people leadership across multiple native Windows applications. The role combines product ownership, engineering execution, quality and reliability, experimentation, and cross-functional collaboration with product management and design. The manager will develop engineers, set priorities, manage technical and product trade-offs, and communicate outcomes to senior leaders. The position requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and at least six years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience. Preferred qualifications include extensive software engineering, engineering management, product ownership, and Windows application development experience. The typical U.S. base pay range is USD 142,800 to USD 274,800 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
