LinkedIn is hiring a Principal Staff Software Engineer to lead its GPU-Based Retrieval Platform, a foundational AI infrastructure stack supporting candidate generation and retrieval across Feed, Ads, Search, Talent, and other products. The role owns the platform’s technical strategy and architecture, including large-scale indexing, vector search, distributed serving, GPU scheduling, memory efficiency, batching, and kernel-level optimization. Responsibilities include improving throughput, latency, recall quality, reliability, and cost; building scalable multi-tenant serving systems; evaluating GPU technologies; leading cross-organizational initiatives; and mentoring senior engineers. The role may be remote or hybrid, requires a BS in Computer Science or equivalent, 10+ years of industry experience, and 5+ years in architecture or technical leadership, with a base salary of $207,000 to $340,000.
