General Dynamics Mission Systems is hiring a Principal Systems Design Engineer to lead the architecture and design of advanced C4I systems for critical defence programmes. The role involves defining technical strategy, guiding design reviews, conducting trade studies and performance modelling, integrating specialty disciplines, mentoring engineers, and influencing decisions with senior stakeholders. Candidates need extensive systems engineering and design leadership experience, expertise in structured design and requirements management, and experience across the full engineering lifecycle. The position offers a salary of £59,200 to £80,000, hybrid working with approximately two days per week on site, and requires UK security clearance and right-to-work checks.
