Description
The Optical Transceiver Systems Engineer leads technical qualification and systems integration for optical transceivers and networking hardware for Microsoft. The role coordinates architecture, networking, firmware, vendor, and product teams; manages demo hardware, reference firmware, interoperability, tolerance testing, calibration, and system-level verification; resolves urgent firmware and manufacturing issues; and provides executive risk and trade-off updates. It requires a B.S. or M.S. in a relevant engineering or physics field, seven years of experience in technical marketing, customer engineering, systems engineering, or technical program management, and strong knowledge of optical qualification, CMIS, telemetry, power and thermal trade-offs, and switch or NIC interoperability. The position is on-site or hybrid, may require travel to Asia, and involves computer and test-equipment work.
