Description

ABS is seeking a Principal Technology Engineer to lead complex engineering design reviews and analyses, manage customer accounts, supervise engineering and technical staff, support rule development, develop proposals and bids, and ensure quality service and accurate billing. The role requires a relevant engineering degree, typically 15 years of related industry experience, and for experienced industry engineers, relevant professional or seagoing licensure depending on background. Candidates should have marine, hull, machinery, engineering software, computer-solution development, database, data analysis, communication, and leadership expertise.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant engineering discipline; a master's degree is preferred.
Required Previous Experiences: At least 15 years of related engineering industry experience.
15 years of engineering experience in a shipyard, design or consulting office, shipping or oil company, or classification society.
Professional, chartered, or seagoing engineering license, depending on engineering background.
Preferred Qualifications: Graduation from a marine-industry-recognized college or university.
Expertise with multiple technical tools, platforms, and techniques.
Ability to train and instruct staff.
Strong collaboration skills.
Strong English language proficiency.
Working knowledge of ABS health, safety, quality, and environmental management systems.
