Description
The Prior Authorization Technician processes prior authorizations for medications, verifies patient and insurance information, communicates authorization status to patients and clinical teams, identifies foundation and manufacturer copay assistance, follows up with pharmacies, processes renewals, and resolves denials and peer-to-peer reviews. The role is performed under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and requires a high school diploma or equivalent, an active DC, MD, or VA pharmacy license, and at least two years of pharmacy technician experience in retail, specialty, or mail-order pharmacy.
