Howmet Aerospace is hiring a Process Automation Engineer for its investment casting facility in LaPorte, Indiana. The role leads the development, integration, and optimization of automated nondestructive testing and defect-review systems, including ultrasonic, radiographic, eddy-current, thermographic, and other inspection technologies. Responsibilities include automating defect classification, integrating inspection systems with robotics, PLCs, MES, and SCADA, analyzing NDT data, improving throughput and quality, conducting validation and calibration, and supporting continuous improvement. The position requires a relevant bachelor’s degree, at least three years of manufacturing engineering experience, hands-on NDT and ADR experience, and programming skills for robotics and industrial automation; visa sponsorship is not available.
