Description

Lam Research is hiring a Process Engineer to develop and improve thin-film deposition processes for sub-2nm CMOS logic nodes, including CVD, ALD, and plating projects supporting LAM JDAs with IBM. The role involves process research, test-data analysis, customer and cross-functional collaboration, process integration, troubleshooting, and leadership of process technicians. The engineer will begin training in Tualatin, Oregon, then move to Albany, New York, with a hybrid work arrangement.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field with 6+ years of experience; or a PhD with 3+ years of experience; or equivalent experience.
Required Previous Experiences: 6+ years of experience for a master’s degree holder
3+ years of experience for a PhD holder
Preferred Qualifications: Laboratory and semiconductor-equipment experience with surface preparation and analytical techniques
In-depth understanding of SPC and/or DOE
Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or similar scientific computing languages
Statistical analysis and problem-solving methodologies
Experience with JMP, Minitab, or similar statistical tools
Background in ALD, CVD, PECVD, or PVD
Background in plasma physics, RIE, ALE, ICP, or CCP
Knowledge of material synthesis and characterization
Experience in collaborative, matrixed environments with semiconductor customers or partners
Experience in semiconductor process design, deposition, etch, dielectrics, conductors, or metal films
