Description
The Manufacturing Engineer will implement and optimize manufacturing technologies and production processes for tubing, hose, and end-fitting products; lead CAPEX projects, equipment selection, validation, commissioning, and continuous-improvement initiatives; improve safety, ergonomics, quality, productivity, and scrap reduction; audit manufacturing and quality-control procedures; train supervisors and operators; and maintain relationships with equipment suppliers and technology providers. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, at least five years of manufacturing engineering experience in wire and cable manufacturing or ten years in another manufacturing industry, project-management experience, and the ability to travel to other Smiths facilities.
