Description
Smithfield's Production Manager Trainee learns and becomes certified in farm department operations, pork production systems, animal husbandry, biosecurity, animal welfare, environmental compliance, reporting, and leadership. The trainee masters hourly farm jobs under supervision, progresses through a manager development program, may act as head of department, and is expected to provide leadership after technical certification. The role requires an Animal Science or related Agricultural bachelor's degree, or current enrollment with near-term graduation, computer literacy, Microsoft proficiency, willingness to relocate, and availability for variable 48-hour weeks, weekends, evenings, holidays, and emergency on-call work. Compensation is $17.00 per hour, with relocation available.
