Description

SpaceX is hiring a Production Reliability Engineer for its Starship Electronics team to drive reliability of spacecraft electrical systems, including communications, power, navigation, and crewed life support. The role performs hardware failure analysis, root-cause investigation, test validation, yield monitoring, and reliability improvements across design, manufacturing, supply chain, and production operations. Candidates need an engineering degree and at least one year of experience in hardware development, failure analysis, reliability engineering, or electronic hardware; the position offers Level 1 and Level 2 base salary ranges, medical, vision, and dental coverage, and may require extended hours, weekend work, and travel.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or another engineering discipline
Required Previous Experiences: At least 1 year of experience in hardware development, failure analysis, or reliability engineering, including internship or co-op experience
At least 1 year of experience working with electronic hardware
Preferred Qualifications: At least 3 years of industry experience working with electronic hardware
Experience with digital, mixed-signal, power electronics, or RF electronics and associated test equipment
Experience troubleshooting and root-causing electrical hardware failures
Experience with HALT/HASS, thermal, vibration, and TVAC environmental testing
Proficiency in Python, C, or C++ for test automation and data analysis
Knowledge of root cause analysis, corrective action, PFMEA, and statistical methods
Experience with analog, digital, mixed-signal, RF, DFX, derating, or digital communications interface testing
Experience with PCB fabrication, PCBA assembly, and electro-mechanical assembly design for manufacturing
Experience reducing failure rates or improving reliability and yield through root cause analysis and corrective actions
