Description

VON Canada is hiring a full-time Program Coordinator, Grief & Bereavement, in Manitoulin Island, Ontario. The role supports Grief and Bereavement Care clients and other hospice programs, coordinates therapeutic arts activities and community sessions, manages volunteers and staff, maintains documentation and program budgets, and reports on program performance. It requires a post-secondary diploma in a health or social science discipline, 2–3 years of related community and health-based care experience, and a personal vehicle with a current driver’s license and vehicle insurance.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Post-secondary diploma in a health or social science discipline, or equivalent combination of qualifications and education
Required Previous Experiences: 2–3 years of related experience in community and health-based care
Preferred Qualifications: 1–2 years of experience in program planning and evaluation
Experience in volunteer administration
Experience or understanding of the not-for-profit healthcare environment
Successful completion or qualifying status in an art therapy program, or equivalent
Ability to lead, manage, and motivate positive change for Grief and Bereavement Care clients
Event planning and group facilitation experience
Experience with children and teens living with grief
Knowledge of agencies and organizations in the region
Commitment to confidentiality and discretion
Knowledge of social and health care services networks and community resources
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and within a team
Strong organizational and prioritization skills
