The East Texas Treatment Facility in Henderson, Texas is hiring a full-time, day-shift Substance Abuse Counselor to support education and counseling services in its Substance Abuse Felony Punishment Facility and In-Prison Therapeutic Community programs. The role coordinates program activities, delivers substance abuse and life-skills education, guides offenders through facility rules, monitors behavior, promotes positive social skills, and maintains accountability for staff, offenders, and property. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, and must complete Correctional Awareness Training, annual in-service training, and an annual background check approved by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. The position pays $17.85 per hour and includes medical, vision, dental, prescription drug, retirement, disability, paid time off, and paid holiday benefits.
